Training with Dana Rader you can be sure that you are training with one of the most qualified and talented professionals in the industry. Dana Rader is the sole director and owner operator of GYROTONIC® Melbourne and Energy Kinetics Instructor Training Pty Ltd.
Dana is a Specialized GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® International Master Trainer. Dana was exposed to both methods in the 1990's when she was living in Hong Kong and had the privilege of learning directly with the founder of the methods; Mr. Juliu Horvath. She continued to train with Mr. Horvath over the years as well as with many other amazing master trainers such as; Adrianna Thompson, Lisa Marie Goodwin, Sebastian Plettenberg, Debra Rose, Juergen Bamberger and Angela Crowley to name only a few.
She established the first studio to incorporate Pilates and GYROTONIC® in Australia in 2002. She is credited with introducing the GYROTONIC® method to Australia in 2000 and GYROKINESIS® method in 2001. She became the first master trainer in both methods in Australia, therefore training many of the instructors in Australia and New Zealand as well as around the world. She continues to travel extensively offering GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor trainings in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Central America.
Dana is also a GYROTONIC® International Master Trainer for the GYROTONER™ unit, the Leg Extension Unit, the Jumping Stretching Board and GYROTONIC® Level 2 Programs.
Dana has presented internationally and nationally on the GYROKINESIS® exercise method at the IADMS conference in 2007, 2012, and 2017 in addition to presenting at several Pilates and Fitness conferences.
Dana is trained in Pilates and is certified by Polestar as a Post-Rehab Instructor, Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA), and Physical Mind Method in Mat and Standing Pilates. Dana also holds a certificate IV and a Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology. Applicable to her instructor training courses Dana holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in Australia.
Dana enrolled in a Master's Degree of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2010, completed a Post Graduate degree in Exercise Science Rehabilitation at Charles Sturt University in 2011, and has recently celebrated 10 years as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist with ESSA (Exercise Sport Science Australia).
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
In this program students learn to design and teach a progressive sequence of Gyrotonic Level 1 classes on the Gyrotonic Pulley Tower. The 195 hour program is composed of four sequential courses (See course details below). Students typically begin teaching the Gyrotonic Method in the role of apprentice within 3 months after beginning the program. It takes approximately 1 year to complete the full program and to become a fully qualified Gyrotonic Trainer.
Gyrotonic Trainers are eligible to register for Gyrotonic specialized courses and Gyrotonic specialized equipment courses.
Gyrotonic Trainers attend at least one continuing education course every two years in order to expand their skill set and maintain their trademark license.

Prerequisites:
An experienced Gyrotonic student with a basic understanding of the Gyrotonic level 1, progression I exercises. Students should take a minimum of ten or more classes with a Licensed Gyrotonic Trainer before registering for this course. For students who do not have access to Gyrotonic classes, a three day introductory course designed to provide an introduction to the Gyrotonic level 1, progression 1 exercises can be taken before the Pre-Training Course.
Purpose:
To provide a foundational understanding of the Gyrotonic level 1 exercises and prepare students physically for the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course. During this course, students focus on gaining experience and developing a personal understanding of the exercises on the Pre-Training Course exercise list.
Upon successful completion
Once students have successfully completed the Gyrotonic Level 1 Pre-Training Course, they may proceed to the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course. The foundation course must be taken between one week and 3 months after the pre-training course.

Prerequisite:
Successful completion of the Gyrotonic Level 1 Pre-Training Course.
Purpose:
To provide a more in-depth understanding of the Gyrotonic Level 1 curriculum and provide students with the specific skills and techniques needed to teach these exercises to clients. During this course, a Gyrotonic Master Trainer introduces the teaching techniques and principles underlying the Gyrotonic Level 1 exercise syllabus and introduces the complete Gyrotonic, Level 1 exercise curriculum.
Upon successful completion
Once students successfully complete the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course, they are considered a Gyrotonic Apprentice. At this stage the Gyrotonic Level 1 Apprenticeship period begins and students can begin teaching the Gyrotonic level 1 exercises they have learned in the role of Gyrotonic Level 1 Apprentice. The apprenticeship license is valid for 1 year. During the one year apprenticeship period, students will finish the Gyrotonic Level 1 Apprenticeshp Review Course, practice teaching hours and the Gyrotonic Final Certificate Course. Students must spend a minimum of six months in personal practice and practice teaching before they are eligible to attend the final certificate course.
